Journal Title：Veterinary And Animal Science
The Journal of Veterinary and Animal Science is an academic journal dedicated to the fields of veterinary medicine and animal science. Veterinary medicine is a science that studies the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of livestock diseases. Its scope is broad, including the health and disease prevention of livestock, accompanying animals, economic wild animals, experimental animals, ornamental animals, economic insects, and fish. With the development of medical and health care, veterinary medicine has expanded to multiple fields such as zoonotic diseases, public health, and environmental protection, playing an important role in the development of agricultural production, biology, and human medicine.
The Animal Science major covers aspects such as animal genetics, breeding and reproduction, animal nutrition and feed science, aiming to cultivate high-quality composite professionals who can engage in teaching, scientific research, production, management, operation, promotion and other work in animal husbandry, veterinary medicine and related fields. This major has a long history in China, starting with the emergence of modern higher education in the early 20th century. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, through departmental adjustments, a relatively centralized and powerful discipline of animal husbandry was formed, laying the foundation for the development of animal husbandry.

動物科學專業(yè)則涵蓋了動物遺傳育種與繁殖、動物營養(yǎng)與飼料科學等方面，旨在培養(yǎng)能夠在畜牧獸醫(yī)及其相關(guān)領(lǐng)域從事教學、科研、生產(chǎn)、管理、經(jīng)營、推廣等工作的高素質(zhì)復合型專業(yè)人才。該專業(yè)在中國有著悠久的歷史，隨著20世紀初現(xiàn)代高等教育的萌芽而起始，新中國成立后，通過院系調(diào)整，形成了較為集中強大的畜牧學科，為畜牧業(yè)的發(fā)展奠定了基礎(chǔ)。
